For Randy, Playin’ Hooky Mobile RV wasn’t just a business idea; it was the next chapter in a life spent on the water, on the road, and elbows-deep in electrical systems.
The name Playin’ Hooky comes straight from Randy’s love of fishing on the water on his boat, a place where he’s spent countless sunrises, tuna trips, and peaceful miles offshore. Fishing has always been his reset button and it’s still a big part of who he is today. When the RV business began to grow, the name stuck. It felt right. It felt like him.
Meet Randy
Hi, I’m Randy Douglas, owner of Playin’ Hooky Mobile RV.
I’ve spent most of my life fixing things; from yachts and electronics to the RVs and cargo trailers I work on today. After more than 30 years helping friends and family with their RVs, I decided it was time to turn what I enjoy into a business.
The name Playin’ Hooky comes from my sport-fishing boat, and it’s a pretty good reflection of who I am. When I’m not repairing RVs, you can usually find me out on the water, planning a fishing trip, or enjoying the outdoors with my wife, our lab, and our cats.
My wife plays a big part in keeping this business running smoothly, and together we share a love for traveling, animals, fairs, festivals, and finding the simple joys in life.
At the end of the day, I just like helping people; fixing what’s broken, explaining things clearly, and making sure your RV is ready for the adventures ahead.
